Pure substances have fixed melting and boiling points. Change in their purity can lead to change in both of Melting and boiling points. Pure water has boiling point 100 degrees centigrade. When we add salt or sugar it became impure or became a solution of salt or sugar. The resulting solution will boil at higher temperature (>100 degree C) than that of pure water.
