Smallest composite number? Do you mean 1 or 4? If you meant 1, then you multiplied it 4 times, then...

1 x 1 = 1 x 1 = 1 x 1 = 1 x 1 = 1 So, the answer is one. Remember, 1 multiplied by itself is always 1.

The smallest composite number is 4.. not 1 or 2 because 1 is a special number while 2 is the only EVEN prime number.... now, when you multiply 4 by itself the answer is 16....

why:
4+4+4+4= 16
4x4=16
