There are different versions in the resolution of the story of Orpheus. In one of the version, Orpheus failed to bring Eurydice back to life because he was not able to follow the only condition of not to look back upon walking towards the world of the living. Because of his excitement, he looked back to Eurydice that caused Eurydice to disappear leaving Orpheus in so much pain and misery. Other version, said that he was being killed and torn into pieces by the order of Dionysus because he allegedly preferred the worship of the rival God, Apollo. However, in a different version,  a happy ending was the resolution of the story because it was said that Orpheus was brought back to life by the mystery religion being inspired by Orpheus music.
