Your heart and lungs work together, whereby the heart pumps blood which is received by the lungs. The right side of the heart receives blood which it pups to the lungs and the left side of the heart receives blood from the lungs and pumps it to the rest of the body.

The lungs provide the oxygen which is to be transferred by the heart to the different parts of the body.
The respiratory system specifically the lungs allows us to breathe (take in oxygen and take away carbon dioxide) and the circulatory system (heart, the one that pumps the blood) transports the oxygen to the different parts of our body specifically to the body cells to produce energy and at the same time it collects wastes such as carbon dioxide that will be delivered back to the respiratory system specifically the lungs and we breathe out the carbon dioxide.
