In a redox reaction,there is a change in the oxidation state of two or more reacting species wherereas there is no change in oxidation state of any species in a non-redox reaction 
  for example: redox H2+F2-2 HF
 Here H and F changes from zero O.S. to+1 and -1 respectively.
  Non-redox: FeSO4+CaS-> CaSO4+FeS
