Option 1 Solution:
1) Change 72 1/4 to improper fraction, then divide by 1/8

 289/4 ÷ 1/8 = N
 289/4 × 8/1 = N (when dividing by a fraction, change the divisor to its reciprocal,
                             then proceed to multiplication)
  N = 578.  There are 578 eighths (578/8) in 72 1/4.

Option 2 solution:
1) Change the dividend and divisor to decimal form.
    72 1/4 = 72.25
      1/8 = 0.125

   Divide:
    72.25 ÷ 0.125 = 578.  There are 578 eighths (578/8) in 72 1/4.

Really? Did I not multiply the reciprocal of 1/8 (which is 8/1) by 72 and 1/4? So if I ask how many 4s are there in 20, should I a multiply 4 by 20, or divide 20 by 4?
in fraction you multiply like 3/4 of 100
you are right but is is easier if yo multiply 8 or 8/1 already
Did I not multiply? When you solve a problem, especially for someone who asks because she does not know (or she would not post that question here) how to solve it, show the solution and how it progresses, show how you derived the equation, and the rules :-) Tell me again, did I not multiply?
Besides, 3/4 of 100 is not the same as the problem here, otherwise, if you insist, then the equation would be 1/8 multiplied by 289/4, which yields a different answer from what the question posted.
