On making fractions as decimal numbers:
Divide the Numerator by the Denominator.
and that, I think is the reason why the slash sign "/" is also used for fraction (e.g. 2/4, and division (e.g. 4 / 2  = 2) , which indicates both division, so same on division the number/value up (numerator) is going to be divided by the number/value down (denominator)

Calculating your problem . . .
