DIOPHANTUS ---> was a Greek mathematician who worked in Alexandria around 250 A.D, and he was called by some "The Father of Algebra".

But other people said that the word "algebra" comes from the Arabic word "al-jabr" ---> which means reunion and is part of the title of a book on mathematics written by Muhammed Ibn musa Al-Khwarizmi.
