Easy Answer: In a pure substance, anywhere you look you will always see the same molecules, atoms, particles. In a mixture you will not see uniformity, example, there are sand on the bottom, oil at the top, and water in the middle.

Pure Substances: Made up of only one element or one compound and all particles are distributed evenly.

Mixture: a mixture/combination of molecules of different compounds, atoms of different elements.
