Let X be the present age of the student
X+15 is the present age of the teacher
After 15 years: (You need to add 15 to both of their ages)
student: x+15
teacher: (x+15)+15 or x+30

Note: Remember that ratio can also be expressed in the form of fraction

Equation:

x+30      3
------- = --- cross multiply
x+15      2

2x+60=3x+45  combine like terms (transpose 45 to the other side of the equation same for 2x) Note: ( If you are transferring numbers the sign will become the opposite. Thus 45 will be -45 and 2x will be -2x

New equation will be:

60-45=3x-2x
15=x

Student's age is 15
Teacher's age is 30
