As food move through the digestive tract further digestion will take place because of digestive enzymes that be acting on it. from the mouth most food will undergo physical digestion that is change in size and shape, only carbohydrate are digested chemically due to salivary amylase, as it swallowed and reaches the stomach gastic juice is added to it through secretions of gastric gland this causes the food to become watery then further digestion of all kinds of nutrients will take place and upon reaching the small intestine there would be additional enzymes that will be acting on food and those which are fully digested will then be absorbed by the walls  of the small intestine and those which are not digested will enter the large intestine together with water where minerals are absorbed toghether with water the unabsorbed particles will form t6he fecal materials
