Carbohydrates are classified into monosaccharide, disaccharide, and polysaccharide. monosaccharide or simple sugar contains one unit of sugar. Disaccharide contains two units of simple sugars which bonded together.  and polysaccharide consist of many simple sugar units which joined together. examples of each for mono-glucose and galactose. disac-maltose and lactose and for polys-starch and glycogen
