Decomposers are very essential to the balance of life. Essentially, many organisms would not exist if there are no decomposers. The stability of the ecosystem also depends on the actions of decomposers. Why? As decomposers require energy from dead organisms (consumer), they give off nutrients back to the environment. These essential nutrients are recycled back in order to be used by the producers. Producers would decrease if there are no decomposers. As such, consumers would decrease if there are no producers. Hence, the consumers would decrease if there are no decomposers.

Decomposers eat the nutrients from the dead organic matter. After eating, they go back under the soik and then they will transfer the nutrient to the plants, which is the producers. Inshort, plants and other organisms cant live without decomposers.
