In the poem, The Man with the Hoe, this line tells us that with all the burdens and hard labor that the man experiences, studies of philosophy (Plato) and science (the constellation Pleiades) do not matter. So as long as he continues working, those things have no meaning to him, because all he dreams for is rest.
