X = -1 I use trial and error dahil Ku g -1 any x any x² ay 1 andang +3x at magiging -3x so and sabot ay -2
Sorry pawalawalakasi keyboard as tablet eh as screen
x = -1. He used trial and error.
(-1)^2 + 3(-1) = -2 ... 1 + -3 = -2 ... la lang, para maintindihan :3
Johncarl26, Why use trial and error when there are methods in solving quadratic equation? If you are not sure which one to use, you may use quadratic formula. Any quadratic equation can be solved using quadratic formula. The problem has a discriminant of 1, which is greater than zero, meaning it has two real roots (-2 and -1), so factoring is the easiest method :-)
Since the roots are the x - intercepts of the graph (parabola) of the quadratic equation, it is important to solve this the correctly. If you give only one answer (through trial and error, -1) in the given problem above, the parabola touches the x-axis at only one point (-1,0), its minimum. Have a blessed day. (By the way, even if there's a typo problem, I understand what you wrote here :-) ).

Arrange to ax² + bx + c = 0:

x² + 3x + 2 = 0

Solve the quadratic equation by factoring:

(x + 2) (x + 1) = 0

Solve for the roots:
x + 2 = 0                            x + 1 = 0
x = -2                                 x = -1

The roots are: x₁ = -2  and  x₂ = -1

Check:
x₁ = -2
x² + 3x = -2
(-2)² + 3(-2) = -2
4 - 6 = -2
-2 = -2   TRUE

x₂ = -1
x² + 3x = -2
(-1)² + 3(-1) = -2
1 - 3 = -2
-2 = -2   TRUE
