When you breathe in, or inhale, your diaphragm contracts and moves downward. This increases the space in your chest cavity, into which your lungs expand, which in turn, the CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) exits the body via exhalation and the remaining O (Oxygen) goes to the heart, into the blood, and distributed throughout the body organs.
