GCF or the Greatest Common Factor is the greatest common number which can divide the numbers equally..to get, you should identify first the common  factor of the number and get the greatest
example:
25 and 90
factors of 25:  1,25,5
factors of 90: 10, 9, 90, 1, 5, 18, 45, 2
common factors: 1, 5
since 5 is greater than 1, the 5 is the GCF of 25 and 90

56 and 80
factors of 56: 7,8,28,2,56,1,14,4
factors of 80: 8,10,2,40,4,20,16,5,80,1
common factors: 1, 4, 8
since the greatest is 8, the GCF of 56 and 80 is 8
