I am an African Child symbolizes the nature, characteristic and intelligence of  Africans. The first stanza says about their skin, their intellect and being talented. The seconds stands for the how they are discriminated by others, how they are pitied and that they need the an opportunity to show the vastness of what they can achieve. The third says that people should not hide their faults and wrongs so that they can learn many things from their mistakes including discipline, character and hard work. The fourth shows their being extra-ordinary, their being resourceful, how can they transform or make from discarded things to something brilliant. The fifth says how they are the new generation, the hope of their country and how proud they are for born an African.
