Capillaries are the smallest and thinnest of the blood vessels in the body and also the most common. Capillaries carry blood very close to the cells of the tissues of the body in order to exchange gases, nutrients, and waste product.

The capillaries are the tiniest blood vessels. They are longer than all the arteries and veins joined together.
The capillaries at the end of the arteries carry the digested food and oxygen.
