1.Think about what you would like to do your essay about. Your topic should be relevant, intriguing and something that you are passionate about.
2.Make sure your theme has a point or tells a story.
3.Write down your ideas for photo composition and then choose the best ones.
4.Become familiar with your camera.
5.Take some practice shots and figure your lighting, ISO, props before hand.
6.Take your photos. Take more than you need and play around with angles and focus. Make sure you have a large variety of photos to choose from.
7.Make sure that your photos flow together and are easily connected visually (ex: someone playing with their cat followed by someone walking their dog as opposed to someone walking their dog and then a close up of an apple.)
8.Add captions explaining your photos and the story they are portraying (if desired).
