Air that we breath in is a mixture of gases but as it enters the lungs only oxygen will be collected by the red blood cells since only oxygen is needed by the body, the other gaseous materials are released when we exhale. going back to the collected oxygen, it is then carried by the blood to the different parts of the body and are being taken by the cells of the body to be utilized for the utilization of nutrients which are being absorbed by the cells in order to gain energy
