Ancient Greeks made some experiments on electricity, but it was not enough to name their "parents of electricity". Alessandro Volta is closer, he constructed the voltaic pile, which is a kind of a battery. Moreover, he was the first man who linked positive and negative-charged connections, which was actually first transmission of electricity. Nicola Tesla, Michael Faraday and Thomas Edison also have impact on development of the electricity, but Volta was first.
