4t ( 25 - 4t ) = 0
4t = 0..........t = 0
25 - 4t = 0......... 4t = 25 ......... t = 25/4

so it will take 25/4s for the ball to reach the ground

I think your question also falls in physics category..... To find the distance, multiply time and velocity due to gravity "d=gt". g is always 9.8 m/s^2 and t =25/4( from the equation 100t-16t^2=0). So distance = 9.8 × (25/4)=61.25 meters.
