Tendons are important for allowing movement because they reduce tension and movement is produced by tendons.Tendons arent made to stretch.Their purpose is to connect the muscle to the bone.If stretched, the tendon might tear.Same goes for ligaments. You stretch your muscles. Tendons connect bones to muscle. Without tendons, the bones cannot move on its own when the muscles move because the muscles and the bones are independent of one another. With tendons around, the bone and the muscle are connected.
So, when the muscle moves, the bone can now move along.
