Gases are easily compressed because its molecules are far from each other. They're far apart and move around freely. Therefore, gases can be compressed by removing the big spaces between the molecules.

Gases are easily compressed because the molecules of the gas are too far apart and the attractions of molecules from each other are weak providing large spaces between them. Forcing the molecules to squeeze, lessening the volume of the gas.
