Let x be the smaller number
y be the larger number
x+y=19   ----equation 1
2x+3y=48 -----equation 2
from eqn 1
x + y = 19
x = 19 - y -----equation 3
substitute equation 3 to equation 2
2(19-y)+3y = 48
38 - 2y + 3y = 48
y = 48 - 38
y = 10
substitute to equation 1
x + y =19
x + 10 = 19
x = 19 - 10
x = 9
so the numbers are 9 & 10
write it as 10,9 since you are asked to have it in ascending order
ascending: 9, 10
oh my bad.. wasn't paying attention

X+y= 19; 2x+3y=48

2x+ 3y= 48
2x=(48-3y)/2
x=24-3/2y

x+y=19
(24-3/2y)+ y= 19
24+1/2y=19
1/2y= -5/ (1/2)
y= -10

x+y=19
x+(-10)=19
x-10=19
x=29
-10 and 29?

try to recheck the values attained by substituting it to the two equations above if you will still render the constants 19 and 48
hahaha. sarreeh. in a haste ako, earning for points. thanks for noticing though.
